Richard Haslam Flower Arranging Workshops



Event Image Renowned, Chelsea Gold Medal Winning designer florist Richard Haslam will teach two all day workshops in October 2010 at Belvedere.

 


Over the course of his career, Richard has become one the country's best-known designer florists, claiming gold medals at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court Flower Show, as well as arranging flowers for the papal visit to Ireland and for visiting heads of state, including Presidents Clinton and Bush.

Richard describes his signature style as simple with a local angle, using locally sourced materials to create his masterpieces. He has showcased this elegant and subtle style in his new coffee-table book 'Flowers', which features stunning arrangements pictured at local landmarks including Barna Woods.

This is a great opportunity to learn from the best.

Saturday 16th October - Flowers for Home

Do you want to know how to arrange your own flowers at home?. Richard will show you how to arrange flowers in vases, create table centres and give you all the tips on cutting from your garden.  

Richard will lead a morning walk of the Walled Garden, giving tips on what to grow for cutting, when  and how to cut for arranging. 

Price includes all tuition, flowers, morning tea/coffee and light lunch.

Time: Start 9.30 for 10 start and finish at 4.30

Cost: €100 per person.


Sunday 17th October - Flowers for the Church

Richard will show designs for church arrangements incorporating seasonal flowers and foliages and using typical church containers. Participants will be making 2 designs to bring home, including altar arrangement and pew/seat decorations. Richard will lead a morning walk of the Walled Garden, giving tips on what to grow for cutting, when  and how to cut for arranging.
