The House

Belvedere House was built in 1740 by German-born Architect Richard Castle (1690-1751), as a hunting and fishing lodge for Lord Belfield - Robert Rochfort - who later became the First Earl of Belvedere.
Located on high ground at the heart of the magnificent 160 acre estate, the house enjoys dramatic views of Lough Ennell and its islands.
The design boasts what, at the time, were regarded as innovative architectural features such as projecting bow windows.
In addition the rooms on the lower floor have fine examples of Rococo Plasterwork, which are highly regarded. Extensive terracing was later added, adding considerably to the view from the house.
The refurbished and extensively restored house will re-create this past history and take the visitor back in time.
The top floor of the house is available for Conferences and Private Functions - the perfect location for your corporate event. Call us on +353 (0)44 9349060 for further details.
